The Overwatch franchise has recently been dealt a blow before the launch of Overwatch 2 next month as the lead hero designer, known for his work on creating the original batch of heroes in the first Overwatch game and the new heroes in Overwatch 2, has left Activision-Blizzard. Geoff Goodman created classic Overwatch characters such as the iconic Tracer and Genji. Mr. Goodman isn’t the only key member of staff to have left the company, as the game’s former director, Jeff Kaplan, left Activision-Blizzard in 2021. Overwatch 2 which will be free-to-play and features a Battle Pass, launches on 4th October on Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
“We thank Geoff for his many years of service at Blizzard and wish him all the best. His ability to bring to life Overwatch’s diverse hero roster through gameplay has been incredible, and the mark he’s left on the Warcraft and Overwatch teams will be felt for years to come.”
