One of the many interesting games shared in the recent Nintendo Direct – Partner Showcase was the remake of the PlayStation platforming adventure, Pac-Man World, which is heading to the Nintendo Switch and other platform next month. Pac-Man World: Re-Pac also made an appearance at the weekend during the Bandai Namco Anime Expo 2022 livestream and the game looks as though it is shaping up nicely. A new video was also showcased which shows off the numerous improvements which are unique to the remake. Here’s a quick summary:
- The hover jump lets Pac-Man flutter in the air for a bit
- Like the GBA version rescuing the Pac-family is optional
- The UI is changed to make keeping track of items easier
- There will be extra polish to the platforming so Pac-Man doesn’t slip off certain edges he jumps onto
- Pac-Man becomes “Mega Pac” when eating a Power Pellet
- Toc-Man has a jetpack and shoots at Pac-Man
- He also appears to be involved in the King Galaxian battle
