Microsoft’s president would like Call of Duty to come to Nintendo Switch

[ad_1]

We heard yesterday that Microsoft is planning to bring a number of key Activision Blizzard games to platforms other than the Xbox Series consoles, such as the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Speaking later to CNBC’s Eamon Javers, Microsoft President Brad Smith, reiterated that it is what the company wants to do and it makes a lot of sense from a financial point of view. During Mr. Smith’s interview the topic turned to Call of Duty, where he stated that will continue to bring it to PlayStation consoles and that they would also like to bring it to the Nintendo Switch, which has never had a Call of Duty game. If Call of Duty does eventually come to the Nintendo Switch family of systems then the team at Xbox or a delegated third party developer would presumably need to develop a separate version especially for Switch. As Call of Duty remains one of the most popular gaming franchises let’s hope that they are able to do it for fans of the series.

“One of the things we’re being very clear about as we move forward with the regulatory review of this acquisition is that great titles like Call of Duty from Activision Blizzard today, will continue to be available on the Sony PlayStation. We’d like to bring it to Nintendo devices. We’d like to bring the other popular titles that Activision Blizzard has, and ensure that they continue to be available on PlayStation, [and] that they become available on Nintendo.”
