The huge news which emerged last month that Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision Blizzard worried a large portion of gamers. Today, Microsoft has announced that the company isn’t planning on keeping the popular Activision Blizzard games exclusive to Xbox and will instead continue to release them on Sony’s PlayStation even beyond the existing agreement that was in place between Activision Blizzard and Sony. Speaking on the company’s official blog, Brad Smith President & Vice Chair for Microsoft also mentioned that they are also looking into “taking similar steps to support Nintendo’s successful platform.” Here’s what he said:

“Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles available on PlayStation through the term of any existing agreement with Activision. And we have committed to Sony that we will also make them available on PlayStation beyond the existing agreement and into the future so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love. We are also interested in taking similar steps to support Nintendo’s successful platform. We believe this is the right thing for the industry, for gamers and for our business.”
