Nintendo has rolled out a new update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, bringing the game to version 3.0.1 and addressing various bugs. The patch, released on November 28, 2023, aims to enhance the player experience by resolving specific issues identified in the game. One of the key problems addressed in this update involved players being unable to acquire a strong item even when they did not take an Item Box. This issue occurred when players stopped or went in reverse during a race, or took an item multiple times from an Item Box in the same location, particularly when online match communication was unstable.
Other bug fixes include instances where the glider did not open when getting on a glide ramp past the suspension bridge in Tour Vancouver Velocity, players falling into a crevice in the cliff and becoming unable to move in Tour Rome Avanti, and players floating in mid-air after driving out of the course without being carried back in by Lakitu in GC DK Mountain. Additionally, the update addressed issues in Wii Daisy Circuit where players sometimes could not move when riding on the statues. Actions and expressions for certain characters added in the Booster Course Pass have also been adjusted to ensure they match correctly. Furthermore, a quirky bug where a Mii’s head would become extremely large or small during the highlight reel has been fixed.
