Level-5 CEO, Akihiro Hino, has tweeted that the Japanese game developer is currently working on the “next great thing” in the Yokai Watch series of video games. The news comes alongside the announcement that the Yokai Watch TV show is currently taking an extended break, presumably so the team can work on whatever is next for the franchise, which was hugely popular on the Nintendo 3DS system in Japan.
“We’re taking a break from TV’s Yokai Watch, but we’re working on the next great thing in the Yokai Watch vein, so if you like Yokai, just hang on!”
