Sonic Superstars launched a few weeks back, and it is apparently a solid 2D platformer, as one would expect. The team of tech enthusiasts at Digital Foundry has been playing through the four versions, and while the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions run fine, it is the Nintendo Switch version that is being highlighted in the video below. Digital Foundry says that the Switch version of Sonic Superstars holds 60fps really well. However, it is the visuals that take a reasonably big hit, primarily in the background effects and texture work. Obviously, SEGA had to make a compromise on Nintendo’s current platform, but Digital Foundry thinks that it is a fair compromise.
